Stay tuned to GamesBeat for more PlayStation 4 coverage from Sony’s ongoing launch event in New York City. PlayStation Store a few weeks later (before the end of the year, promised Yudintsev). War Thunder will be available on the European PlayStation Store when the PS4 launches in that region on Nov. It’s already made a number of well-received flight combat games, including Birds of Steel and IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. The company has grown to over 100 people and just opened an office in Germany. “In the brave new world of online gaming, it’s better to self-publish,” he said. “And Sony’s been much more open to indie development than any other platform holder for the past three years.”įounded in 2002, Gaijin has become the biggest independent video game developer in Russia. Obviously, Gaijin keeps a more substantial chunk of the revenue that way, but the benefits don’t stop there: It’s easier for Gaijin to communicate with its community without a publisher standing in the middle, noted Yudintsev. Gaijin is self-publishing War Thunder on PlayStation 4 as it did on PC (and will for Mac OS X, which will eventually see a War Thunder release). “We’re not the only ones doing this, but we’re part of the movement that’s helping to change that mindset.” “Today you can make a real, quality game, make it free-to-play, and actually earn money,” said Yudintsev. The 10-15 percent of players who purchase premiere accounts and content have spent enough for Gaijin to completely recoup its PC development costs. – – – : I don’t see real minus points although the remixes -which are okay, aren’t the best exponents from the album.Ĭonclusion: I’ve never been disappointed by Intent:Outtake and this new album only confirms the talent and strong potential of a band which, according to me, deserves much more recognition.īest songs: “Toc Toc Tod – Album Edit”, “Panopticon”, “We are Stars”, “No regrets”, “Time Is Running Out” + “Gib Nicht Auf”, “Wttna”.Īrtist: Label: / has spent about $10 million on War Thunder development so far, according to Yudintsev, but it’s already raking in substantial revenue on the game. Pioneering online and multi-player modes for flight sims - Enjoy 4 player co-op or go into the new and unique online war mode to compete against up to 16. This band is once more reminding me of In Strict Confidence which I think is much more than simply a reference. The bonus disc features cool extra songs as well. But Intent:Outtake is much more than a powerful production as the work also reveals poppy elements. The most noticeable cuts reach a climax by carrying choruses and easy, but cool, vocals like on the unavoidable “Tic Toc Tod” (probably the biggest hits of the band so far). The songs are well-crafted and achieved with cool, overwhelming, strings. + + + : Intent:Outtake don’t reinvent any Electro underground genre but are talented artists elevating familiar Dark-Electro and EBM standards to a higher level. The bonus disc features 3 extra songs plus 3 remixes by Centhron, The Saint Paul and Vdoc. This music is pure club-food and the previously released EP-title song “Tic Toc Tod” remains a true earworm. The songs have been sung in German and English but whatever the language the sound remains dark and furious. The work comes four years after the previous album and is their second opus released by Scanner.Ĭontent: Intent:Outtake remains faithful to their powerful Electro sound which lays somewhere in between sophisticated EBM and intelligent Dark-Electro. Some flight models feel worse than its Ps3 counterpart and I think it also lacks a historical campaign and Mission Editor (I think). It might be prettier and an overall larger game but it does fall down in certain areas when it comes to overall realism.
